Madison | Cave of the Mounds – An Underground Adventure 🔦🧭✨

Visited the Cave of the Mounds with friends a couple of weekends ago! Just a 30-minute drive from Madison — super convenient. Nearby is also the Havens Petting Farm 🐐, making it a perfect combo trip! The self-guided tour takes about 45 minutes. The visitor center has a cute gift shop with fun souvenirs. 📸 At the end of the cave, there’s a photo spot — though you can’t go beyond the barrier. 🪨 Before entering, a staff member gave a talk about geodes and even picked someone from the group to crack one open — and it was my friend! So lucky 😂🎉 🕳️ The cave itself is magical — well-lit pathways, shimmering formations, and a cool (literally!) atmosphere throughout. 🛍️ The gift shop sells geodes (some looked dyed though 🎨), and there’s a fun water flume activity where you can sift for stones yourself! 🪙 Also spotted a cool gravity-powered coin vortex exhibit in the visitor center — simple but weirdly satisfying!
