Madison | Cave of the Mounds β An Underground Adventure π¦π§β¨
Visited the Cave of the Mounds with friends a couple of weekends ago! Just a 30-minute drive from Madison β super convenient. Nearby is also the Havens Petting Farm π, making it a perfect combo trip! The self-guided tour takes about 45 minutes. The visitor center has a cute gift shop with fun souvenirs. πΈ At the end of the cave, thereβs a photo spot β though you canβt go beyond the barrier. πͺ¨ Before entering, a staff member gave a talk about geodes and even picked someone from the group to crack one open β and it was my friend! So lucky ππ π³οΈ The cave itself is magical β well-lit pathways, shimmering formations, and a cool (literally!) atmosphere throughout. ποΈ The gift shop sells geodes (some looked dyed though π¨), and thereβs a fun water flume activity where you can sift for stones yourself! πͺ Also spotted a cool gravity-powered coin vortex exhibit in the visitor center β simple but weirdly satisfying!
