Madison | Devil’s Lake State Park 🏞️🍂

Back in China, I never really liked hiking — climbing endless stone steps felt tiring and boring 😴. I always avoided mountain trips with friends. But after coming to Madison — which some might call “even more boring” — somehow even hiking became fun 😂! I missed the CSSA trip to Devil’s Lake due to rehearsal, so I made up for it this weekend. The best part was climbing down those giant, purplish-gray boulders along the lake 💜🧗. Now THIS is what real hiking should feel like! The lake itself looks… well, like a lake (pretty much like Mendota 😅). But the views from the rocks were stunning! I bet it’ll be even more beautiful in fall when the leaves turn red and orange 🍁✨ — though I’ll probably be too cold to come back by then 🥶❄️.
