Madison | Exploring Asian Sweet Bakery 🄣🄔

While traveling, a breakfast of pork and preserved egg congee with soy milk and fried dough sticks can really warm up the morningļ½žHere’s a Chinese breakfast spot we tried in Madison — Asian Sweet Bakery. The shop is pretty small with very limited parking spots out front. Street parking nearby might take some patience šŸš—ā€¦ There are only a few small tables inside, and the heating wasn’t great — would recommend taking out unless you wanna freeze 🄶 We ordered a ton: Pork & Preserved Egg Congee Soy Milk & Fried Dough Stick Egg Tarts Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup Veggie & Meat Bun The congee was delicious šŸ‘ — flavorful and loaded with ingredients, highly recommend! The soy milk was decent, but the youtiao (fried dough) was served cold. They can’t heat it well there (microwave makes it soggy), so best to dip it in hot soy milk… or take it home and air-fry it for crispiness! The egg tarts were pretty good but also not very warm. The shrimp wonton noodle soup had way too many noodles šŸ˜…ā€¦ The wontons were okay, but the broth was bland. Just average. The veggie & meat bun was not it — thick dough, skimpy filling, and lacking flavor šŸ™…. Overall, this bakery is one of the few places offering Chinese breakfast in town. It’s a nice alternative when you’re not feeling brunch. Worth a try if you’re passing by! ~$35 for three people. Still — better to take away unless you want to eat shivering… #UWMadison #MadisonWI #MadisonFood #ChineseBreakfast #MadisonEats
