Madison | Foodie Recap šŸ½ļø

Throwback to some Madison memories—these are from a while back, so I’m relying on bits and pieces of Ā· Kettle Black Kitchen ā¤ļø One of my favorites—great flavor, nice decor, and good vibes. Loved the pork shank (sweet and right up my alley), the steak was solid, and the shrimp appetizer was tasty too. Just peeked at their menu though—looks like it’s changed. Not sure how it is now. Ā· Dā€˜Vino 😐 It was just okay for me, but my friend absolutely loves it. The chicken cutlet was decent, portions weren’t huge (unless you’re a light eater šŸ˜‰). Overall, not very memorable. My only real memory: one Christmas Eve we tried to walk in without a reservation… and failed. Ā· The Harvey House šŸ’« Amazing service—very date-friendly! They even have a train car dining section you can book for events. (The staff mentioned it and I instantly thought of Sheldon Cooper… he’d love it here 😭) Sizzling Shrimp = šŸ‘ Chicken liver < Sardine (get the sardines!). Salmon and steak were fine. Lasagna was a no (it was a special—even the server warned us it was green and weird. And yes, it was weird.) Ā· Bar Corallini šŸŽØ Cute interior! Antipasti Board was delicious. But… everything else we tried was not good šŸ™ˆ Ā· Lallande 🌟 LOVED this place! I always ask for kitchen bar seats—feels more immersive šŸ§‘šŸ³ Cheese plate = good, steak = good, charred carrot = didn’t try (I hate carrots šŸ˜…), escargot = just okay (a bit too snail-forward). Also ordered drinks but… I forgot 😢 Same owner as the popular Bloom Bake Shop next door. If you sit at the bar, the owner might chat with you—super friendly! We even got a free pack of cookies from the bakery when we left šŸŖā¤ļø Ā· Sardine 🤌 No words needed. Just go. Chicken livers = incredible, charcuterie plate = amazing, seared salmon = perfection, pork chop = chef’s kiss. Ā· Amara Was good… but it’s closed now šŸ˜‹ #MadisonFood #MadisonEats #FoodRecap #WisconsinEats #FoodieDiary #ThrowbackEats
