Madison | Mint Mark — A Hard-to-Describe Dining Experience 🍽️
Lamb Yogurt Pasta 🐑🍶 As someone who loves sour flavors, I found this fairly acceptable—but it was too oily 😬. You could definitely taste the lamb's gaminess (which I don’t mind), but my friend thought the combo of yogurt + lamb was too strong. I thought it was pretty tasty though! The pasta itself had a nice soft and chewy texture. Lobster Something Something 🦞 We saw something with "lobster" for just $19 and immediately ordered... only to receive these three croquettes 😅. But honestly? They were pretty good! Inside was lobster meat and rice (?) with a noticeable lobster flavor. The outside was fried well—crispy and served hot. The Meat Platter 🦆🐖🌭 This had duck, pork, sausage, and some type of beans. We both agreed the sausage was delicious—crispy on the outside, juicy inside. The meat and beans underneath were also good, but again… SO oily!!! This dish is apparently award-winning—called something like "Winning Award XXX" 🏆… but maybe ease up on the oil next time? Now about the desserts… They’re too sweet. Like, no-one-could-finish-this sweet. 🍧😖 Brownie Sundae 🍫 Felt more like a brownie dish than a sundae tbh. The coffee ice cream on top was nice, and the brownie had a rich chocolate flavor—but after a few bites, it became overwhelmingly sweet. Banana Pudding 🍌 Pretty sure that’s vanilla ice cream on top. The banana sauce poured over was insanely sweet 🫠, though the pudding itself was slightly better—warm with banana and cinnamon notes. Still… we only managed a few bites. Total came to $130+ for two people… which felt totally not worth it 💸. The dishes were creative, I’ll give them that! But just too oily… As for dessert? Maybe skip it 🙅♀️. I originally wanted to try the Earl Grey crème brûlée (I’m a huge Earl Grey lover!), but my friend isn’t into that “delicious Earl tea” vibe 🫖😂. The ambiance was nice though—spacious, but they kept the windows open so it was pretty windy 💨🌬️. #MadisonEats #Madison
