Madison | You Can Always Trust a Madison Sunset 🌅

Isn’t it just breathtaking? Last weekend, we took a road trip from Evanston to Madison and spent two amazing days there. We rented a car from Enterprise—the drive took about 2.5 hours one way. 🚗💨 Heads up: there are a lot of large trucks on the highway (much bigger than what we usually see in China), so drive carefully! Here’s an important tip 🧠: In the U.S., the dashboard shows speed in miles per hour (mph), not kilometers. So when you’re driving 80 mph, that’s actually about 130 km/h 🚨. My friend asked how fast we were going… I said 80, sometimes even 100 (oops 😬). They said: Thank goodness you didn’t get pulled over—the fines would’ve been crazy! 3 Must-Try Restaurants 🍽️ Short Stack Eatery 🥞 A brunch spot with lines even on cold mornings! Must-order: Corned Beef Hash. Very Chinese-friendly 😋. Bartaco 🌮 Amazing tacos! Try the Glazed Pork Belly Taco, Fried Oyster Taco, and Street Corn. Your taste buds will thank you 🌶️. Amara 🍝 An Italian restaurant with great food, cocktails, and a cozy vibe. We had our first dinner with friends here — highly recommend! Skiing in Madison 🎿 Did you know? Madison sits at the same latitude as Siping, Jilin Province (like Changchun), so the winter snow is perfect for skiing! ❄️ There are several ski resorts around Wisconsin: Near Madison: Cascade, Devil’s Head, Tyrol Basin A bit farther: Granite Peak We went to Cascade — it’s huge and great for all skill levels. Tickets sell out fast, so book online in advance! Fun Fact 🎉 UW-Madison is known as a top “party school” 🍻, and the sports culture is huge!
