Madison Adventure | Cave of the Mounds β A Hidden Gem!
Just a 40-minute drive from downtown Madison β we made it right after visiting a farm and caught the last tour of the day! ππ¨ Since it was Easter, we paid an extra $2 for the Stone Hunt β a fun treasure hunt inside the cave with three beautiful mineral collection spots! ππ This cave is much smaller than the ones Iβve been to in Guilin and Jiangxi (China), but the tour was incredibly well-designed β educational and entertaining π§ β¨. The 50-minute guided walk was totally worth it! The lighting was also much more natural and elegant compared to the colorful light shows back home β apparently designed by an internationally awarded team π. My favorite part was at the deepest point of the cave, where we experienced βthe darkest dark in the worldβ β so surreal! The entrance and exit are through the gift store ποΈ. They offer a free gold panning activity! We met a lovely older couple who taught us how to find free coupons online β just search βDells cave couponsβ π.
