Madison Eats | The Ultimate Ordering Guide for Dagu Rice Noodles!

Dagu Rice Noodles is basically the canteen for those of us living at The Hub – I eat here at least twice a week 😂 Here’s my full ordering guide to make the most of your meal! 🍲 Must-Try Bowls: 1️⃣ Hot Pot Beef Brisket / Tripe / Fatty Beef, Sour Soup Fatty Beef, and Tom Yum Rice Noodles are the BEST – never disappoint! 😍 (RIP the original hot pot broth with tofu though 😢) 🌶️ If you want spicy, go for the Hot Pot Fatty Beef – skip the "Mala" one. 2️⃣ Tomato broth is kinda like ketchup-based… I once made the exact same taste at home 🍅👩🍳 If you’re picky about tomato soup, maybe skip it. BUT! The Tomato Beef Brisket is great – the brisket is braised, so it’s richer. 3️⃣ You can customize your protein! Example: I often order Sour Soup Fatty Beef but swap the beef for Sliced Beef (like Chinese dry-cut beef) – so good! ✅ 4️⃣ Tom Yum Noodles come loaded with seafood – mussels and shrimp are plump and fresh! 🦐 5️⃣ The signature big bone noodle isn’t my fave – the bone itself isn’t very flavorful 🦴 It’s more for the 'gram than for taste. 🍚 Rice & Sides: 6️⃣ The chicken cutlet over rice is juicy and crispy – I love it! But note: their rice dishes seriously lack greens 🥬 It’s all meat and carbs… 7️⃣ The Couple’s Beef Offal is not very spicy – more like a braised flavor with mild heat. Okay but not ideal. 8️⃣ Drinks & Dessert: Their soy milk (Vitasoy in glass bottles!) is a classic 🥛,and the brown sugar mochi is pretty decent – crispy outside and soft inside when served fresh! 9️⃣ The Beef Tripe & Brisket Clay Pot is delicious and HUGE – I always have leftovers for the next day! 🍲♨️ Perfect for a quick, warm, and satisfying meal – especially during busy school days! 🏫❤️ #DaguNoodles #Madison #UWMadison #FoodGuide #RiceNoodleLover #ChineseFood
