Madison Korean Food Picks š¤¤
From one hungry foodie to anotherāhereās my take on Korean spots in town! 5 Star Korean BBQ š Only been once. It was freezing that day š„¶, and we walked forever⦠so maybe I was just extra hungry, but the food felt warm and comforting lol. Pro tip: If youāre worried the food might be mid, just walk there in winter š¶āļø. I only tried tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and soon tofu soupāboth were solid! Heard their fried chicken is good too. Solās on the Square ā Probably the most popular one? Every time winter hits, I crave warm, calorie-heavy Korean food š². Weekend waits are realābe prepared! My ranking: š„ Kimchi Beef Fried Rice ā A must-order every time! Great shared as a sideātoo rich to eat alone as a main. š„ Short Ribs ā Classic sweet & savory Korean flavor. Sadly, I always struggle chewing the meat š . š„ Fried Chicken ā Super crispy with tangy sauce⦠but gets heavy after a few pieces. 4ļøā£ Soon Tofu Soup ā Perfect with rice! 5ļøā£ Stews ā Pork bone (gamjatang) š ā big meat pieces, mild and slightly sweet. Skip the beef stew. Also not a fan of their bibimbap or kimchi pancake. Even their army stew is just okay. SGD Dubu š ā Right on State Street Braved a snowstorm on Valentineās Day to eat here āļøā¤ļø. Usually has a line! Recommendations: š„© Short Ribs ā Better than Solās (and prettier plating!). Thatās it lol⦠everything else is meh. Their ramen-added tofu soup tastes worse than just making Shin Ramyun at home š. Secret Spot: The Bulgogi Taco Food Truck šāØ Silver truck in front of Memorial Library ā says āBulgogi Tacoā on it. Only tried their fried rice ā not amazing, but itās close to campus and cheap!
