Madison Thai Food Favorites 🥭
Here are my top three Thai restaurants in Madison! Thai Basil 🌿 Must-tries: 🍜 Drunken Noodles – Similar to stir-fried rice noodles but with a sweet-spicy kick and fragrant herbs. If you can’t handle spice, go for level 3 or below. 🍍 Pineapple Fried Rice – Unique for its subtle curry flavor. I love it! Spice level doesn’t matter here—it’s never too spicy. 🍛 Yellow Curry – Rich and perfect with rice. You can handle spice level 5—it’s not that hot. 🌱 Green Curry – Refreshing, but comes with green beans (not my fav). Still, yellow curry > green curry. 🦐 Tom Yum Soup – Super aromatic and packed with flavor. 🍗 Paradise Wings – My favorite fried chicken in Madison! Sweet and sour glaze, though the meat can be a bit tough. 🥭 Mango Sticky Rice – Seasonal! Call ahead to check. The mango is sweet, and the rice is soft—the best version in town! Rising Sons 🍜 Must-tries: 🥥 Coconut Chicken Noodle Soup – Creamy, curry-flavored broth that tastes like yellow version of “Tang Da Ren” instant noodles. My absolute favorite! 🍜 Drunken Noodles – Tastes more like traditional Chinese stir-fried noodles, without the sweet-spicy twist. 🍜 Kao Poun (Rice Vermicelli) – Similar to coconut chicken noodle but with more herbs and peanuts. My second favorite! 🥭 Their mango sticky rice is just okay—order it only if you’re craving it. Monsoon Siam 🌶️ Must-tries: 🦆 Red Curry Duck Leg – The curry is rich, slightly spicy, and goes perfectly with rice. The duck itself is just average, but the dish is still highly recommended! 🍛 Chicken Curry & Pineapple Fried Rice – Not bad, but I still prefer Thai Basil’s versions. 🥭 The mango sticky rice we ordered had overripe (dark) mango 😢. 🏠 Ambience: Thai Basil > Monsoon Siam > Rising Sons 💰 Price: Thai Basil ≈ Monsoon Siam > Rising Sons (But I still really love Rising Sons’ noodles!) #UWMadison #MadisonFood #ThaiFood #FoodieRecommendations #CampusEats #MadisonEats
