Maryland | Baltimore – More Beautiful Than You Imagine
❤️ Having traveled to all 50 U.S. states, I can confidently say: Baltimore is often overlooked among East Coast cities, but it holds an underrated charm that’s absolutely worth a weekend visit. So what’s there to see? Let me show you 👇 👉 Inner Harbor 🌊 The heart of Baltimore – vibrant, scenic, and full of energy! Every time I climb up Federal Hill Park and look out over the harbor, the view takes my breath away. 😍🌆 👉 Baltimore Museum of Art 🖼️ Located at Johns Hopkins University – and it’s FREE! 🎉 This isn’t just a small gallery. Don’t miss the Cone Collection, featuring works by Matisse, Picasso, Pissarro, Courbet, and Degas. 👉 American Visionary Art Museum 🎨 Weird, wonderful, and wildly creative! Use Bank of America’s Museum on Us program for free entry on certain days. The building itself is eye-catching, and the art is delightfully unconventional. The gift shop sells postcards with a spooky twist – classic portraits from a century ago that transform into skeletons and zombies when you tilt them! 💀😱 👉 National Aquarium 🐟 A stunning architectural gem with crystal-clear glass revealing lush indoor trees and rock formations spiraling toward the ceiling. The jellyfish and coral exhibits are magical! ✨🌿 👉 Maryland Science Center 🔬 Hands-on, interactive, and incredibly fun! Each zone explores physics, chemistry, or biology in engaging ways. Lots of the life science content comes from Johns Hopkins – so it’s both educational and inspiring. 👉 Fort McHenry ⭐ A historic fort guarding the East Coast – and the birthplace of the U.S. national anthem! Explore the small museum and stand where Francis Scott Key was inspired to write “The Star-Spangled Banner.” #Baltimore #TravelUSA #Maryland #HiddenGems #EastCoastTravel #MuseumHop #HistoricSites
