🐔 Michelin One Star – 2025 Summer Restaurant Week Review 🌟🍽️

Overall Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟½ (Deducted half a star because the main course was a bit average.) 💒 Service was outstanding! 💯💯 We happened to visit around our anniversary (a few days off), and they surprised us with complimentary champagne + a handwritten card signed by all the staff! So thoughtful! 🥂💌 📖 Menu: 65 for 3 courses or 80 for 4 courses. I highly recommend the 4-course option – the extra dish was my favorite of the night! 🍞 Pre-meal bread: Unexpectedly pineapple-bun style – totally hit the spot! So good I’d buy it to take home! 🍍😋 🥒 First Course – Cold Dishes: Cucumber with blue crab, Thai green curry, and lemon yogurt – an interesting mix! The green curry had a kick 🌶️, but the crab was subtle. Melon Salad – sweet and tangy, very refreshing for summer 🍈💚. 🍝 Second Course: Potato Gnocchi – freshly made, sauce slightly sweet 🥔❤️. Shrimp Toast – THE STAR OF THE NIGHT!!! 🦐🍞 Minced shrimp on crispy fried bread – tender inside, crunchy outside. Reminded me of “shrimp-stuffed youtiao” – absolutely satisfying! Will return just for this! 🥰 🍴 Third Course – Mains: Beef Pasta – decent but not memorable 🐄🍝. Sea Bass – the fish was okay, but the chickpea flatbread was unique (no bean flavor!) 🐟🧆. 🍰 Dessert: I ordered Dubai Chocolate, but the server mistakenly brought cheesecake… so we got to try three desserts! 😅 Dubai Chocolate with Pistachio Ice Cream – finally tried it! Loved the crispy threads and chocolate combo. Ice cream was a tad sweet 🍫🍨. Vietnamese Coffee Tiramisu – perfect mascarpone cream with slightly bitter biscuit base – balanced and delicious! ☕🎂 Cheesecake – ehh… my partner and I agreed it was outshone by the other two. Despite the main course being just okay, Rooster & Owl has held a Michelin star from 2021–2024 for a reason! ✨ It’s not ultra-creative, but the flavors are solid and memorable.
