Michelin-Starred Indian Restaurant Rania Summer Restaurant Week 2025

📝 Overall Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Docked one star because I didn’t like the incense scent in the restaurant—it had a strong temple-like aroma that wasn’t for me. 😅🕯️ 📌 The ambiance is sophisticated and elegant. Sitting down instantly brings a sense of calm—perfect for forgetting the stress of a long workweek! 🧘♀️💼 📖 Prix Fixe Menu: 3-course 65 / 4-course 90! Personally, I recommend the 4-course—it lets you taste more delicious dishes! 🍽️💫 📌 Peach-flavored Cocktail 🍑 So refreshing and delicious! Plus, it’s incredibly pretty—almost too beautiful to drink! 🥂👌 📌 Pre-meal Amuse-bouche: Crispy potato balls with avocado and fish roe 🥑🐟 Nothing too extraordinary, but I love anything with fish roe! 😊 📌 First Course: 🦪 Oysters Served on a huge plate—I thought there were so many, but it was just a few LOL! 😂 The seasoning was distinctly Indian-style spicy! 🌶️ 🥚 Chicken and Quail Egg So delicate and well-presented! Quail eggs wrapped in minced chicken, fried until crispy, and topped with black truffle! 🍄⚫ Not for everyone, but truffle lovers will enjoy! 📌 Second Course: 🐚 Scallops Incredibly tender scallops with a hint of cumin—reminded me of street-style grilled squid! 🦑🔥 Loved it! 🥞 Lamb Wrap Curry-spiced lamb—decent, but nothing extraordinary. 🐏🍛 📌 Third Course (Mains): 🦆 Beijing Duck Leg My dining partner couldn’t stop praising it! Crispy, fragrant duck leg seasoned with white pepper—he said it tasted very Taiwanese-style! 🇹🇼🍗 🐟 Monkfish I’ve tried many fish dishes during restaurant week, and this was my favorite! Served with a coconut-based sauce—fruity and slightly sweet, making it much less heavy than typical cream sauces! 🥥💛 The meal also came with complimentary naan, rice, and curry sauce—probably to make sure we left full! 😂🍚 The naan was especially crispy and delicious—a carb-lover’s dream! 💖 The rice even had raisins for a sweet surprise! 🍇 📌 Desserts: 🍮 Shrikhand Mousse Absolutely delicious! Made with gooseberry—tangy and not too sweet! 🍋 The lemon-flavored pearls added a fun texture—probably the best non-Asian dessert I’ve ever had! 🏆 🥭 Mango Yogurt Ice Cream A bit ordinary—the coconut mousse was overly sweet, and the mango ice cream was tangy. Not as memorable as the Shrikhand! 🍦 As one of the few Michelin-starred Indian restaurants, Rania completely changed my perception of Indian cuisine! The spices were present but never overpowering—instead, they highlighted the natural flavors of each ingredient. Highly recommend! 👏🌿 #DMVFood #DMVRestaurantReview #DCRestaurantWeek #DCMichelin #DCrestaurantRecommendations #DMVDining #IndianCuisine #MichelinStarExperience #FineDiningDC #FoodieReview #ElegantEats #SpiceLovers #RestaurantWeek2025 #WashingtonDCfood #FoodAdventure
