Modu | pastries | Super Delicious LA Korean Cafe🤍

A newly opened Korean café in Highland Park, bright and clean but with limited seating. Highly recommend taking a stroll down the nearby Highland Park shopping street after your coffee! ☕️ **Milk Cream Bun $8 | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️** A must-order crowd favorite! Even those who aren't fans of cream will enjoy this. The bread is moist and satisfying. It's served at room temperature, but I personally think it tastes even better chilled. 😋 **Yuza Kumquat Tart $10 | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️** Surprisingly delicious! The outer crust is made with black sesame, and the tart is infused with yuzu aroma from the inside out. The balance of sweetness and tanginess is perfect. Highly recommended! 🍋 **Miso Honey Cinnamon Roll $8 | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️** Quite impressive! I took it home, froze it, and microwaved it for two minutes with a damp paper towel. The bread remained moist and delicious. The cinnamon sauce is evenly spread, and it has a distinct taste reminiscent of Meiji Milk Candy. I'll definitely buy it again to try it crispy in the air fryer! 🥢 **Yuza & Boricha Madeleine $4/each | ⭐️⭐️⭐️** The madeleines are well-baked but nothing extraordinary in terms of flavor. Fans of madeleines might want to give it a try. 🥪 **Ssuk Marble Pound Cake $7 | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️** I came specifically for this mugwort pound cake. The texture is great, with a subtle mugwort and spice flavor that's not overpowering. It's a unique but widely appealing cake. 🥧 **Hojicha Mochi Muffin $6 | ⭐️⭐️⭐️** Not my favorite. The hojicha flavor is weak. The outer layer has a muffin texture, and the mochi inside feels more like a rice cake. Although the taste and texture are fine, it didn't suit my palate (though my friend did reorder it). 🥮 **Black Sesame Mochi Cake Bar $6 | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️** Didn't taste much black sesame when eaten fresh from the store, but after chilling and eating it the next day, the flavor was much stronger. It's a dense and slightly sweeter cake with a mochi-like texture. 🌰 **Espresso Cloud $5.5 | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️** The coffee isn't as standout as the pastries. Espresso + water + milk foam + cocoa powder. Don't use a straw to avoid wasting the foam! The coffee is on the acidic side and pairs well with pastries. ☕️ I took my order to-go because the café was full, but the turnover rate is pretty high. The plates and cups used inside are really beautiful, so if you're willing to wait, I recommend dining in. 🥢 🅿️: Went on a Sunday, and parking wasn't too difficult. #cafe #Coffee #LAKoreanCafe #LACafeHopping #LAMustEats #LACoffee
