Monterey Park Is Also Getting the Good Stuff Now! 🍵
Matcha Desserts Straight from Kyoto's Uji 🍦 Hey everyone! 👋 When I went to Dawei Malatang a couple days ago, I noticed a matcha spot had opened right across the street! I saw so many people there—young folks, seniors, kids, ABCs—it was super popular! Given that it uses high-quality matcha from Uji, Kyoto, I had to try it, and it did not disappoint! 😋 🍵 MATCHA CAFE MAIKO 📍 500 N Atlantic Blvd unit 166, Monterey Park, CA 91754 🍧 Maiko Special This one was my favorite! Beautiful layers with coconut jelly, syrup, red bean paste, corn flakes, matcha toast, mochi, and matcha ice cream. It felt like a complete dessert experience, not just a simple ice cream—so satisfying! ✨ 🍧 Matcha Shaved Ice I tried the ube and matcha mix soft serve—ube adds a nice sweetness and a subtle fragrance that pairs well with matcha. But the ice underneath was a bit watery. After having the Maiko Special, this one felt a bit light in comparison. They offer three ice cream flavors: matcha, ube, and vanilla. I highly recommend the matcha—rich, smooth, not too sweet, and no bitter aftertaste! 🍵💚 Monterey Park’s Times Square Plaza is really becoming a go-to spot for food and fun lately!
