Matcha Cafe Maiko truly stands out as a rare gem! đ I was genuinely impressed to discover they use ceremonial grade Matchaâsomething I know from experience is exceptionally premium and not what you typically find in any ordinary cafes. Having bought ceremonial grade Matcha myself, I can confidently say their quality is on a completely different tierâsmooth, vibrant, and complex rather than the bitter and flat notes you might expect from regular matcha blends.
Their Matcha ice cream and black sesame ice cream exceeded all expectationsâeach bite was delicious, perfectly balanced, and rich without being overly sweet or heavy. I even brought my 2 friends visiting from out of town to here and we all loved it! These flavors will thrill anyone who appreciates authentic Asian desserts with depth and sophistication.
The shopâs bread and snacks are also noteworthy; my friendâs young daughter actually preferred the bread here to her own dinner, which is quite a statement about how tasty and kid-friendly the food is! đ
One thing I really love about Matcha Cafe Maiko is the lively, welcoming atmosphere. It's full of energy, with lots of young people relaxing and enjoying themselves. The ownerâs kindness and genuine passion come through in every interaction, making the whole experience even more memorable. He clearly cares about his craft and customersâqualities I always appreciate. They are committed to quality with integrity without compromise. Itâs a much healthier option than regular snacks in my opinion.
My friend who grew up in Japan and her teenage daughter, both discerning about authentic matcha, were thrilled by the snacks here. Every item we tried reflected a high standardâno shortcuts, just premium ingredients and authentic recipes executed with care.

Read moreInteresting business, to say the least, it has a selection of drinks and desserts. I had a matcha latte along with a cheesecake dessert. The cheesecake was probably sitting for a long time because it tasted dull and the drink was actually light and acceptable.
The cashier lacks mathematical skills. I provided her with a bill of $20.00. She placed my change on the counter which was about 14 dollars with a mixture of dimes, nickels, quarters, and pennies. Then at the last minute, I decided to try out a cheesecake. So she brought me up again a second time and the cashier said "oh it's $3.23 cents" so she gets the money from the counter and I see she's struggling with the math, the cashier grabs three dollars and 15 cents and says "no that's not right" she could've just grabbed the 25 cents leaving the remainder of 2 cents as change, or get 20 cents and 3 pennies for a perfect hand count. But instead the cashier said "I'll just get the $5" lol.
The business owner should know about this issue because it can financially impact the business, can you imagine if she is giving out excessive change or short changing customers it affects vice versa. I did have the decency to leave a tip because I felt bad their tip jar was pretty much empty. In the end, you never know this cashier could've had some sort of disability, mental health issue, that's the only reason I didn't want to stress the situation.
Sometimes correcting a mistake can cause sadness and discouragement. The cashier looked to be young, perhaps her first job-so yeah anyways if you are into the hipster theme this may work...
