Montreal → Burlington Day Trip 🇺🇸

🚗 Quick & Easy U.S. Getaway! Vermont is probably the closest U.S. state to Montreal—just under 2 hours away! The border crossing took 1.5 hours (first-timer checks 😅), but the officers were super friendly. They asked: "Where are you staying?" "Purpose of visit?" (We said day trip!) "Why Burlington?" (Me: "A friend recommended it!" 😆) Since it was our first U.S. visit in 5 years (despite having visas!), they double-checked before stamping us in. 📍 Stops We Made: 🏥 University of Vermont Medical Center – Quick look around. ⛪ Church Street Marketplace – Cute downtown stroll. 🛒 Trader Joe’s – Snack haul! ⚡ ⛽ Costco Gas – $3.10/gallon (vs. Montreal’s ~$1.60/L… HALF PRICE!). 🍽️ Grand Buffet – HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 🦞 $16.99 (same price weekends!) Fresh seafood, great flavors—total steal! (Address in last pic 📍) 🛃 Return Border Crossing: Only 20 mins total! Officer just asked: "When did you enter the U.S.?" ("This morning!") "Spend over $200?" ("Nope, ~$100.") Handed back our cards and done! 💭 Final Thoughts: Burlington’s tiny but fun—perfect for a Costco gas + Trader Joe’s run! ❄️ Too cold now, but once it warms up, we’ll be back for cheap U.S. groceries! 😏 #DayTrip #TravelDiaries #WeekendVibes #Vermont #BurlingtonVT #MontrealToUSA #CostcoHaul #TraderJoesHaul #BorderCrossing #Travel2023 ✈️🛍️
