Morning in Bakersfield is way nicer than I expected! 😊​

My kid was totally worn out after a 5-hour drive yesterday—even after I finished breakfast, they were still fast asleep in bed. 🛌 I just couldn’t sit around the house, so I stepped out for a little stroll (seriously, wandering around alone has always been my favorite way to unwind since I was a kid)! 🚶♀️​ The town is surprisingly clean, with all these low-rise single-story buildings. And since it’s spring, the flowers are in full bloom too—looking at this little town, it’s actually pretty charming! 🌸​ Oh, and the stuff at Trader Joe’s here seems a bit cheaper than in the Bay Area. That’s a nice little bonus! 💰​ I know the thing I have to help my kid take care of this afternoon is going to be a total headache—super tedious and annoying. 😩 But hey, I should still relax when I can, right?
