My Most-Visited Korean BBQ in LA
If you're in LA, you probably know this spot—it's my most-revisited Korean BBQ restaurant: 📍Thirsty Cow📍 It’s located in the Rowland Heights Costco plaza. They open at 11 AM, and I always arrive 10 minutes early to line up—that way you can get in right when they open! Lunchtime fills up fast, and there’s often a wait even after you finish. Evenings are just as busy, so if you don’t want to wait, get there before opening. Check in at the front, wait for your table to be set up (they’ll text you when it’s ready), and a server will escort you in. They offer AYCE (All-You-Can-Eat) with two price tiers—and yes, they’ve raised prices multiple times 😅 Now it's $49 for Premium and $39 for Choice. Premium offers more meat options. The meat quality is consistently good—never disappoints. My top recommendations: beef tongue and rib finger! We once ordered the tomahawk steak (huge, better for 4–6 people)—two of us nearly couldn’t finish it 😂 Must-order side: Kimchi Dosirak (shaken kimchi lunchbox) — simple spicy rice that pairs perfectly with BBQ. They shake it up before serving. You can also add grilled octopus to make it a full seafood rice bowl. After your meal, the server will ask what flavor ice cream you want—a sweet ending! 🍦 ⚠️ Pro tip: Check your bill carefully. A few times they accidentally added drinks or items from another table. Probably just busy mistakes, but better safe than sorry! Lastly… a question that’s puzzled me forever: why do they always put onions on the grill? Other places use oil to prevent sticking, but the onions don’t seem to do much—and when they change the grill, they even transfer the onions to the new one 🤔 #KoreanBBQ #LAEats #LAKoreanBBQ #BeefTongue #AYCE #ThirstyCow #RowlandHeights
