My Trip to Boston 🌆
Boston is such a surprisingly livable American city! I came for a conference and decided to explore—here’s my mini guide. 🏨 Stay in downtown for maximum convenience. I recommend DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston. It’s just 400m from Chinatown and a few hundred meters from Boston Common. There’s also a Chinese supermarket and a Whole Foods nearby—super handy! 🛒🍜 1️⃣ Started my day with brunch at Tatte 🥪. It’s known for its sandwiches, but honestly, it was just okay—maybe I’ve been spoiled by all the amazing food back home 😅. Right across is Boston Common, which connects to the Freedom Trail and Public Garden. You can hit three spots in one go! They’re compact and not too crowded—perfect for a morning walk or run 🌳👟. 2️⃣ Exiting Public Garden, you’ll see Hermès and Tiffany 💎. Great for window shopping, but the prices aren’t anything special. 3️⃣ Walk about 1-2km toward Tiffany, and you’ll reach the Charles River. There’s a lovely riverside path—follow it all the way to the Long Bridge 🌉. 4️⃣ Across the bridge is MIT 🎓. The campus feels smaller than I imagined, but the academic vibe in Cambridge is strong! 5️⃣ A short walk from MIT is Harvard! So much to do here: Natural History Museum ($15 ticket) 🦖—home to an impressive plesiosaur skeleton! Harvard Art Museums 🖼️—featuring Van Gogh’s self-portrait and artifacts from around the world. The Coop 🛍️—I snagged a Harvard × Lululemon collab shirt. Maybe my future kid will be a freshman here 😂👶. 6️⃣ Took the Green Line (B Branch) to Boston University 🚇. Met up with my little brother here—skip it unless you’re really into campus tours. 7️⃣ Headed back to downtown via Uber and had dinner in Chinatown 🥢. Boston’s current mayor is Chinese American (ABC) 🎉, and the city feels welcoming, convenient, and easy to navigate. Public transport is great, there’s a strong Chinese community, and it’s not overly crowded. Other tips: 🚗 Ride: Uber 🍱 Food delivery: HungryPanda (looks just like Meituan!) 🗺️ Maps: Google Maps 🦞 Lobster: Market Basket—only $8/lb, and they steam it for you! Having previously lived in Virginia and visited LA and DC—which felt either too big or too rural—Boston surprised me. It’s the perfect blend: not too huge, not too remote. Highly recommend—I’ll definitely be back! 💙 #Boston #TravelGuide #BostonTravel #LivableCity
