It’s sometimes easy to forget how amazing this place is. If you are a local (like myself), it’s easy to take places like this for granted while you are desperately looking for parking for a work related or simply non Boston Garden/ Common related visit. The place is frequently teeming with tourists and that’s only fair, as it’s one of the most iconic landmarks in Boston. Between the swan boats, the lagoons and bridges, the gorgeous flowerbeds and landscaping and the statues, this place has it all… (including the rats - yes there are sizable rats - think the size of a really small dog- that are gonna be nonchalantly surrounding you if you sit down on a bench late in the evening. One could make the case they are part of the charm of the place:)) There is really nothing quite like seeing the trees in the Public Garden start to blossom in the spring, couple it with warmer weather and the tulip display extravaganza (sprinkled with a dusting of some of the more iconic views of the taller buildings on Boylston street etc and it really can feel like you are in a movie.
Give yourself ample time to find parking or pay for the garage. Remember that on a beautiful day it will be very packed with people mad you will set yourself up to enjoy one of the more “cliche / touristy “ and yet most amazing...
Read moreBoston Public Garden completely will steal your heart. From the moment you stepped in, you will felt like you had entered a peaceful, green sanctuary right in the middle of the city. The landscaping is stunning—vivid flowers in full bloom, lush trees that offer shade and comfort, and carefully maintained pathways that invite you to stroll slowly and soak in the atmosphere.
One of my favorite moments was watching the iconic Swan Boats glide gently across the pond. It felt like something out of a storybook. I also loved seeing families, couples, and solo visitors all enjoying the space in their own way—whether reading a book under a tree, having a picnic, or just relaxing on a bench.
I took my time wandering through the park, taking photos of the beautiful statues and fountains, especially the George Washington statue. Everything about the garden feels peaceful, thoughtful, and timeless. It’s not just a park—it’s a place that invites you to pause and breathe.
If you’re visiting Boston, you absolutely cannot miss this place. It’s a perfect blend of nature, history, and quiet joy. I’ll definitely be coming back whenever I’m in the city. Highly recommended for all ages...
