Nara Β· Nanto Daian-ji πΏ
To be honest, this pilgrimage to the seven temples was truly exciting and full of emotion. ππΈ Seeing the "face" of Nara for the first time, I was struck by its unique character. I set off early in the morning from Nara Station to Daian-ji. ππ’The journey was only supposed to take 20 minutes, but as I walked, I unexpectedly found myself in the countryside. I turned a corner at an alleyway and suddenly saw the temple's main gate. ππΈ Inside the courtyard, I was amazed by the historical animations that brought the temple's past to life! It turns out this temple used to be so vast; now it's a size comparable to Kyoto's Honno-ji. ππ’The wooden sculptures and statues inside are from the Heian period, exuding an ancient and touching charm. If you don't have a real interest in Buddhist history from the 6th to 8th centuries, you might not seek out this hidden temple nestled among rural homes. ππΈ I wrote a wish on a wooden tablet, and as a spring breeze blew by, I felt incredibly refreshed. πΏ #Nara π #AncientArchitecture ποΈ #NaraAncientTemple πΏ
