National Arboretum in DC 🌸

Looking for a great spot for a day trip around DC? The National Arboretum is a perfect choice! 🚗 There's plenty of parking available, and it closes daily at 5:00 PM. Heads up—the Bonsai Garden closes at 4:00 PM, so make sure to arrive at least an hour earlier if you want to see the bonsai! ⏰ The whole park can take anywhere from 40 minutes to 2 hours to explore, depending on how much you’d like to see. 1️⃣ Bonsai Garden Located right next to the Visitor Center, with parking nearby. 🏮 The garden features both Chinese and Japanese-style architecture and beautifully curated bonsai trees. Remember, it closes at 4:00 PM! 2️⃣ National Capitol Columns A stunning display of large stone columns set against a green lawn. 📸 A very popular spot for photos—you’ll see plenty of visitors capturing the view! 3️⃣ Azalea Collection A trail filled with vibrant azaleas in bloom! 🌺 While it’s lovely, it may not be as impressive as the Brighton Dam Garden. You can either walk from the Visitor Center or drive directly to the Azalea Parking area. 4️⃣ Asian Collections Just a 4-minute drive to the parking lot! 🚙 This area includes a peaceful trail featuring a variety of Asian plants and flowers—cherry blossoms, peonies, magnolias, and even a charming Japanese pavilion. 🏯 The best time to visit? Late March to mid-April, when the flowers are in full bloom! 💮 Have you been to the National Arboretum? What was your favorite section?
