Nepal π³π΅ | You must visit this place in Bhaktapur!
- I watched a TV show πΊ about Wenqi in Nepal, and the footage was really high-quality. I heard that one of the scenes was shot at a paper mill in Bhaktapur. I asked a local tour guide and found this hidden treasure in a small alley π΄ββ οΈ. - The paper mill is called Peacock Shop. Follow the navigation to the entrance of the alley, then walk another ten or twenty meters forward. On the left, you'll see a short and narrow passage . Inside, there's a simple wooden door frame with a handwritten sign that says "Peacock Shop" hanging beside it. - It's an old house π with two large elephant wood carvings π at the entrance. The inside is very quiet. I tiptoed in, and an old lady sitting behind the counter smiled at me π. I told her that I came to visit after seeing an advertisement. She proudly said that the old man inside was her husband! She then took out her phone and showed me the advertisement. The old man came downstairs and offered to give me a tour of their factory, which is also their home. I felt truly honored! The factory is located behind the shop and is a large wooden house. The structure inside is fascinating. The old man took me from the second floor down to the basement. The first floor is for printing and drawing, the second floor is for papermaking π, the upper floors are their bedrooms, and the basement is where the old man keeps his collection of wood carvings πΏ. Finally, after walking through a dark corridor, I ended up back in the first-floor hall! It was amazing. I kept marveling at the structure of the house and the collections inside. The old man was also very happy, and it was clear that he is someone who loves life and enjoys sharing. Hahaο½ - The shop sells various paper products, including postcards and notebooks with different patterns. A single postcard costs 120 rupees, and a set of six is 500 rupees. The price is reasonable, and the handmade paper feels very thick and sturdy π. I really liked their calendar, with each page featuring hand-drawn Nepalese attractions. In the end, I also got the same Himalayan mountain range painting that Wenqi had. The scene of the old man rolling up the painting perfectly overlapped with the one in the short video, as if I had stepped into a movie π¬. #Nepal #NepalTravel #Bhaktapur #OffTheBeatenPath #Travel
