š New Orleans 3-Day & 2-Night Lazy Itinerary āļøš·
3 to 4 days is just about enough to explore the whole city of New Orleans, in my opinion! Hereās my personal itinerary: Day 1: Explore the French Quarter āļø We stayed at a hotel on the southern side of the French Quarterāand honestly, the Quarter isnāt that big, so getting around is easy. My check-in order was: Jackson Square St. Louis Cathedral The LaBranche House (for photos!) These three are the must-visit spots in the French Quarter. The rest of the area is filled with shops, so you can wander around, grab a bite to eat, and take the day at a leisurely paceāno need to rush š¶āļø. After dinner, you can head to Mahogany Jazz Hall to listen to live jazz š·. Make sure to book in advanceāyou might not get a spot if you try to book the same day! Day 2: Morning Swamp Tour š + Afternoon WWII Museum šļø Both places require advance reservationsādonāt skip this step! Swamp Tour: We booked with Cajun Encounters Tours, and it was awesome. The guide was super informative and helpful. We chose the earliest slot at 9:30 AM, and the tour ended around 11:00ā11:20 AM. WWII Museum: We grabbed lunch after the swamp tour, then headed to the museum in the afternoon. It has 5 exhibition halls, plus two experience programs: Beyond All Boundaries and Final Mission. You can check the museumās official website for descriptions to decide if you want to join these experiences. The museum is actually quite largeāan afternoon might not be enough to see everything. If you really want to explore it thoroughly, I recommend setting aside a full day for it! Day 3: Laura Plantation + Oak Alley Plantation You can book guided tours for both plantations directly onlineāeach tour lasts about 1 hour. Laura Plantation: You canāt wander around on your own here, so once the guided tour ends, thereās not much else to do at the plantation. Oak Alley Plantation: The main house requires a guided tour to enter, but after the tour, you can freely explore the entire plantation and take photos šø. The plantation is super photogenicāgo when the sun isnāt too strong, though, otherwise itāll be really hot! A Little Tip: If you donāt need much time to take photos at the plantations, you could combine the swamp tour and plantations into one day, then dedicate a full day to the WWII Museum. This way, your schedule wonāt be too tiring, and youāll also have enough time to enjoy the museum. The only downside? It takes about 1.5 hours to drive from the swamp area to the plantations. #StudyAbroadLife #LifeAbroad #StudyAbroadTravel #NewOrleans #NewOrleansTravelGuide #NewOrleansJazz #NewOrleansTrip #LesserKnownFunSpots #MyStudyAbroadLife #NewOrleansItinerary
