New Thai Restaurant in Pasadena 🇹🇭
Is Pasadena becoming the new Thai Town? Beyond Hollywood’s Thai Town, Pasadena is actually a low-key hub for authentic Thai food — I’ve shared many hidden gems here before. This newly opened Thai Thyme is right across from Huntington Hospital, and it’s so good I had to share! Though it’s been open less than a month, it’s actually their second location — the first is in Monrovia Old Town and is super popular there. I’ve been a few times. The Pasadena menu is similar, offering authentic Thai flavors — and their grilled prawns and holy basil rice absolutely won me over 💕 🍃 Holy Kaprow A major reason I’ll come back! This was my first time trying holy basil rice with pickled bamboo shoots — so unique and addictive, totally different from the usual version. Only here! 🥣 Tom Kha Seafood Anyone else prefer Thai coconut milk soup over Tom Yum? This soup is actually my benchmark for judging a Thai restaurant’s authenticity. Their version is rich, creamy, and flavorful — way above average! 🦐 Jumbo Prawns A must-order! Check out these huge prawns — grilled golden and crispy, with rich roe inside, just like Bangkok street-style seafood. I’ve visited the Monrovia location many times — their fried rice, curries, and fried chicken are all excellent, though their Pad Thai was just okay. Don’t miss their desserts — the fried ice cream is incredibly good! The Pasadena spot is already busy (which slowed service a bit), but everything else was 10/10 💝 📍 Thai Thyme Pasadena 123 W California Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91105 #100RestaurantChallenge #FoodInspiration #LAEats #NewInLA #LAFoodExploration #LAThaiFood
