New York State Capital Albany

📍Just a half-hour drive from the spa town of Saratoga. 1⃣️ Empire State Plaza – The must-visit attractions are all within this circle of buildings. Parking is available at the central visitor parking for $10 per day. Access the surrounding attractions via the Concourse underground tunnel. 🔹 As the state capital of New York, the NY State Capitol is a must-see. It's incredibly grand and is said to have been the most extravagant office building of its time. Free tours are available on weekdays at 10 AM and 12 PM, requiring online reservations. The tour includes visits to the Assembly and Senate voting areas. 🔹 Empire State Plaza – Stroll around the outdoor area to see all the buildings. A free tour is offered at 2 PM. 🔹 Erastus Corning II Tower – Head to the top for a panoramic view. 🔹 New York State Museum – A massive museum with highlights like the 9/11 Memorial and NYC history exhibits. 🔹 The Egg – A performing arts center shaped like an egg. 2⃣️ Nine Pin Cider Works – A great spot for cider tasting. Nearby, there’s a huge dog (?) statue – the World's Largest Nipper Statue. 3⃣️ Cohoes Waterfront – The area was once home to factories. Walk along the Hudson River to see the waterfalls. Visit Falls View Park for waterfall views, or head to Peebles Island for summer hiking and barbecues, or autumn foliage. However, it still falls short compared to most state parks in Massachusetts, lol. 4⃣️ Troy Town – While researching, I found that downtown Albany isn’t very safe, so I decided to book a hotel in a safer area. Troy turned out to be a pleasant surprise! #NYSurroundings #NYWeekend#Albany#Albanyguide#Albanytravel#NewYorkState#TheEgg#travelguide
