Newport, Rhode Island
If you’ve already visited Providence, why not consider a trip to Newport, Rhode Island? It’s a well-developed tourist town—beautiful and perfect for a short getaway 🧳! 📅 One-Day Itinerary 🚘 Depart from Boston: The drive takes roughly 1.5 hours. 🔴 Stop 1: The Breakers It’s recommended to buy tickets in advance on the official website 🎟️ and select your entry time. This saves you from waiting in line for on-site tickets or other delays. You can also choose combo tickets like “The Breakers + 1/2/3 other properties”—pick based on your schedule and how many mansions you want to visit. 🔴 Stop 2: Marble House We walked to Marble House from The Breakers, which took about 20–30 minutes. But the journey is totally worth savoring slowly—every spot along the way is beautiful! Even casual photos taken on the street turn out lovely 📸. 🔴 Cliff Walk You have to take a walk here!!! It’s incredibly stunning 🌊. While the entire trail is long, you can choose to hike a section of it. We entered from The Breakers and exited at the Wetmore Ave entrance on our way to Marble House. Next time we get the chance, we’d love to walk the full length. 🔴 Accommodation We booked a place called Almondy Inn. It has French-style decor, and the manager is a friendly French man. He even makes homemade French breakfasts himself! The rooms are small but very clean. One moment that stood out: when he handed us the keys 🔑, he said, “I hope you feel like you’re staying in your own home.” 🔴 Dining We didn’t get to try many places, but we did visit The Mooring Seafood Kitchen & Bar. Both the food and cocktails were fantastic—no misses at all! After dinner, we wandered around the area. The weather was perfect, and we caught the sunset 🌅—the view was gorgeous. The town’s streets are also great for browsing, with lots of cute small shops. #RhodeIsland #RhodeIslandTravel #RhodeIslandFood #RhodeIslandWeekend #BostonDayTrips #AmericanLife #US Travel
