North American Mochi Ice Cream
🍦Mochidoki, a brand from New York, was first introduced to me at Central Market in Dallas. As someone who usually doesn't enjoy mochi, I inexplicably bought a box. I thought to myself, "It's more expensive than other mochi, so there must be a reason." And indeed, ever since, I could give up bubble tea or crumble cookies, but not this. 🥭I'm from the South, but I've never been a fan of glutinous rice textures—things like tangyuan (rice balls), mochi, sticky rice cakes, and sesame balls. So, I've never been particularly fond of mochi, and my tolerance for mochi ice cream is mostly due to the ice cream inside. Mochidoki is truly unique. 1️⃣ The mochi wrapper is very thin and incredibly soft and chewy, melting in your mouth. 2️⃣ The ice cream flavors are distinctive, not just the traditional green tea or red bean. They have many innovative options. My favorite is the cake batter flavor, which has a light and airy cake-like sensation. You really have to try it to understand! 📍 You can find Mochidoki at physical stores in Soho, the Upper East Side, and Santa Monica, as well as in many supermarkets across the U.S., like Central Market in Dallas. This brand is also supplied to many high-end restaurants, including the New York specialty Nobu. #IceCream #Mochi #MochiIceCream #FoodReview
