OC Japanese Food | Affordable & Seriously Good – Unbeatable Value!
Went shopping at South Coast Plaza over the weekend and suddenly craved sushi 🛍️. We found a Japanese spot nearby, and wow – it was so popular that there was already a line at 4:30 PM! Just seeing the crowd got us excited 😆. Checked the menu – the sushi rolls are small but super affordable, so you can try a bunch of different ones without breaking the bank! 🔥 Seared Bluefin Tuna The torched exterior and tender inside create a perfect contrast. The fat melts beautifully, making each bite rich and fragrant. With a touch of garlic yuzu sauce and sliced jalapeño 🌶️, it’s refreshing with just a hint of spice – a great appetizer! 🍣 Sushi Highlights Uni (Sea Urchin): Sweet and fresh – a little soy sauce and wasabi bring out its natural flavor. A must for uni lovers! Scallop: Lightly torched with a subtle smoky aroma. Sweet, smooth, and cool on the palate. Toro (Fatty Tuna): Wrapped in shiso leaves – the herb cuts through the richness and adds a refreshing note. 🐟 Monkfish Liver If you like foie gras, you’ll love this – it’s often called “foie gras of the sea.” Creamier and lighter than traditional foie gras, with a subtle oceanic flavor 🌊. Served with yuzu vinegar and scallions – rich but not heavy. 🍋 Yellowtail Collar (Hamachi Kama) Grilled to a golden crisp outside, locking in all the moisture. Inside, the fish is buttery and melts in your mouth. A squeeze of lemon and a dip in tempura sauce balance the richness and highlight the delicate flavor. We didn’t have a single miss – everything was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. Definitely a spot we’ll return to! 🎌❤️ #100RestaurantsChallenge #CaptureTheMoment #LALife #LAEats #LAFoodFinds #LAReturn
