ocean bath
I set off from Sydney Central in the early morning, taking a three-hour train ride 🚞. By the time I arrived in Newcastle, it was already noon. I found a restaurant by the seaside for a simple lunch, then started my hiking trip. I began from Ocean Baths, a very vintage pool. The Tiffany-green steps paired with the pale yellow walkways give off an old-movie vibe. From here, you can also see Nobbys Lighthouse not far away. Then I kept walking along the coast towards Memorial Walk and Bar Beach, where I could enjoy the endless expanse of the ocean. There were also quite a few people surfing and playing here 🏄 Finally, I reached Merewether Ocean Baths. Going up from there is a high spot called Merewether Lookout, with a sloped lawn and stunning views. It’s worth waiting until the sky grows dark—the blue hour here is absolutely perfect for photos. ‼️ A must-remember for anyone taking this route: do not skimp on sun protection! There are very few shaded spots along the way, and you’ll be in direct sunlight most of the time. When I got back, I noticed my arms had tanned several shades darker. Also, if you’re making a round trip from Sydney, remember to check the train departure times to avoid having to wait a long time for the next one. #Australia #SydneyTravel #Sydney #Photography #SydneySurrounds #SydneyHiking #Newcastle
