Off-the-Beaten-Path: Oklahoma Museums ๐ค ๐๏ธ
Well, the pho was just so-so, but the real surprise were the two museums we visited! ๐ค National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum This place was absolutely stunning! Everything from the architecture, interior design, outdoor sculptures, and visitor interaction was top-notch. Exhibits: The new galleries are fantastic and comprehensive, showcasing Western cowboy culture from every angle. Highlight: We had an absolute blast trying the life-sized "cowboy roping" game ๐ฏ. Us two girls were swinging that dirty rope, getting covered in mud, and laughing the whole time! Bonus: It's a great place for Texans to learn more about their own cowboy heritage. ๐ณ Oklahoma City National Memorial This memorial honors the 168 people who lost their lives in the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. Exhibition: The experience begins with a powerful, immersive exhibit that recreates what it was like to be in a nearby meeting when the blast occurred. Story: The galleries then guide you through the events: the background, the rescue efforts, the investigation, and the pursuit of justice. Reflection: It's a deeply moving tribute to innocent lives lost. It also made me reflect on the Nanjing Massacre Memorial back home, a stark reminder of the immense suffering war can bring. โจ Final Notes Peace: My heart goes out to all who have suffered. May peace last forever. ๐๏ธ Bonus: We happened to visit on a Bank of America Museums on Us free admission day, and street parking was free too! ๐๏ธ๐ ฟ๏ธ #MuseumAdventures #OklahomaCity #CowboyMuseum #NationalMemorial #TravelVlog #OffTheBeatenPath #PeaceForAll
