📚 Oklahoma | Bizzell Memorial Library 🏛️
I was delighted to discover that the University of Oklahoma's Bizzell Memorial Library is open to the public and free to visit! 🎟️ Campus Vibe: The campus's main color palette instantly reminded me of my high school dorm, evoking a sense of familiarity and comfort. Interior: Stepping inside, the rich scent of solid wood immediately calmed me. I absolutely love reading surrounded by this aroma 📖. History: The walls are lined with historical photo exhibitions of the campus, offering a fascinating glimpse into its past. American universities really do a wonderful job of preserving their (club) and organizational histories. 🏛️ The Great Reading Room As a U.S. National Historic Landmark, the library is most famous for its Great Reading Room. Style: A stunning example of Neo-Gothic design, it's often called one of the "Harry Potter-style" reading rooms. ⚡ Comparison: Having visited Oxford and Cambridge universities myself, I can see why people make that comparison—it's definitely got that magical, timeless quality! 🧭 Visitor Tip The building's staircases are a combination of old and new, which can be confusing. How to Find It: After entering the old building, take the staircase on the side. Or: Just ask one of the student volunteers at the desk on the first floor—they're happy to help! #Architecture #Library #Oklahoma #TravelDiary #University #ReadingRoom #HarryPotterVibes #Travel
