📍 One-Day Trip to The National Gallery and Courtauld in London

🚄: Coventry—London Euston—Charing Cross Station (tube) 🏛️ Trafalgar Square Arrived at Charing Cross Station by 9 AM and reached Trafalgar Square within a 10-minute walk. Right across the square is The National Gallery. 🎨 The National Gallery You can book your visit a few days in advance on The National Gallery’s website to avoid long queues. The gallery opens at 10 AM, and I had a reserved time slot for 10:15, but I entered with the 10 AM crowd. The National Gallery is worth spending an entire day to explore carefully. Many people come to sketch, and it’s also great to have guided tours explaining each piece. I spent over three hours in The National Gallery, admiring the Sunflowers🌻, Leonardo da Vinci’s sketches🗒️, Water Lilies🪷, and works like “The Knight and the Princess,” among others. Already planning for my next visit:) The gallery shop is also a delight to browse; I ended up taking away postcards, a Sunflower card holder, and fridge magnets. 🍪 Courtauld Gallery Café Tried the lemon muffin at the café opposite the Courtauld Gallery, but it wasn’t to my taste. 📸 Courtauld Gallery Students get free entry; tickets🎫 for the special exhibitions are an additional £6. Three floors in total. The first floor is about Jesus, the second floor has my favorite work “Adam and Eve,” and the third floor features mostly Impressionist pieces, along with the special exhibition of sketches and handcrafted works. 🎓 King’s College London (KCL) Nearby is KCL, which I glanced at from the outside, a school I received an offer for but ultimately did not attend. 🥃 Two Temple Place Visited “The Glass Heart” exhibition, which runs from January 27 to April 21 each year. It’s all about glass art; I particularly loved the piece with a sailboat⛵️ inside a glass cup. Just a heads up, this exhibition is time-limited, so don’t miss it! #London #TheNationalGallery #CourtauldGallery
