One-Day Trip to Whidbey Island
🌟Chose a weekday to take the Mukilteo ferry at 10:30 AM, and then headed up to Whidbey Island for a leisurely playtime, checking out a few attractions. 🌟The colorful town of Langley is indeed very pretty! Wandered around the souvenir shops, had lunch at the Hawaiian-style food truck Ikaika Grill, bought ice cream for the kids at Sprinklz Ice Cream, and the parks by the water were cute and refreshing. 🌟The abandoned military base, Fort Casey, is actually quite interesting. It feels like it would be a great place for parkour or hide and seek. Climbed up to the battery for a view of the bay and saw many people flying kites on the grass. 🌟Ebey’s Landing is a must-visit! Parked at the small lot outside Jacob & Sarah House, which allowed us to see cute cabins on the way to the water. The curve of the shoreline with the mottled clouds is indeed beautiful. Didn’t have time to walk the full trail, but I’d love to come back. 🌟On the way back, we skipped the ferry and drove north on land, passing by Deception Pass. Walking under the bridge is a bit daunting when you look down, but you can also walk on the bridge. 🌟Several attractions require a Discovery Pass, which we bought last year and expires at the end of the month. Definitely got our money’s worth. #SeattleSurroundings #WeekendGetaways #WhidbeyIslandDayTrip #SeattleDayTrips #TravelDiary #DayTrip
