Only 3 Locations Worldwide π£ When in LA and Not Sure What to Eat
Restaurant: Udatsu Sushi π£ β only three locations globally, the other two are in Tokyo and Hong Kong. We booked the evening omakase β 17 courses in total. Since it was just my friend and me, service was incredibly fast β felt like a private dining experience! π The pacing was smooth and comfortable. Arrive 30 minutes early to enjoy drinks downstairs π·, or just come by 6 PM if you're not drinking. πͺ· The attention to detail stood out from the start: chairs pulled out, coats taken, each dish introduced thoughtfully without interrupting the meal. The champagne pairing really brightened up the seafood flavors, and their signature cocktails are also worth trying! π° $225 per person, plus $75 for caviar & truffle pairing. π₯’ A few favorites: 1οΈβ£ Seasonal Vegetable Roll β with okra, alternating temperatures, refreshing and texturally interesting. 2οΈβ£ Seared Rockfish Nigiri + Truffle Salt β tender yet chewy, clean flavor with a hint of pink on top. 3οΈβ£ Cod Fish Soup β light, fragrant, melts in your mouth, no fishiness at all. 4οΈβ£ Three Tuna Nigiri (Lean / Medium / Seared Fatty) Lean: delicate floral notes Medium: slightly tangy with vinegar hints Fatty: lightly seared, rich but not oily 5οΈβ£ Deep-Fried Ling Cod with Seaweed β crispy outside, tender inside, with lemon and matcha salt β refreshing yet satisfying. 6οΈβ£ Horse Mackerel + Vinegar Sauce β perfectly balanced sweet vinegar, served with pickled onion and floral accents. 7οΈβ£ Double Sea Urchin Nigiri + Fried Nori + Caviar β Santa Barbara + Japanese uni, layered over crispy nori β a journey from briny to creamy to sweet.
