Ottawa's Delicacy: Waxed Meat Clay Pot Rice

I wonder how many friends, like me, are fond of waxed meat but find that there aren't many restaurants in Ottawa serving it. Today, I'd like to recommend a restaurant that I crave to visit every once in a while—Yimin Dim Sum ❤️ For some reason, Yimin Dim Sum has moved from Chinatown to Kent Street. However, the owners are still the two kind-hearted aunts who were there before, and they are extremely polite and friendly to everyone 😊 My friend and I ordered one portion of chicken feet, one portion of turnip cake, one portion of steamed dumplings, and two portions of clay pot rice. I’ve always loved their chicken feet and turnip cake, but somehow, after I returned to Canada from my home country during the pandemic, I noticed they are a bit saltier than before 🧂🍚 But the clay pot rice is definitely worth recommending! I ordered the one with Chinese sausage and preserved meat, while my friend got the one with Chinese sausage and spareribs. Personally, I think the clay pot rice with Chinese sausage and preserved meat is really a must-try for everyone 👍 What’s more, a portion of clay pot rice is only a little over ten dollars, which is enough to fill you up—it’s quite a good deal 💰 It’s worth noting that the clay pot rice is made to order, so it takes a bit longer, around 30 minutes. Therefore, if you’re in a hurry, it’s best to call in advance to make a reservation and ask the aunts to prepare the clay pot rice ahead of time 📞 The address is 195 Kent St 📍 #Food #CantoneseCuisine #OttawaFood #Ottawa
