Ottawa's Filipino Restaurant | Sanduk
LUMPIANG SHANGHAI Fried Spring Rolls The filling is ground pork mixed with vegetables, served with a sweet plum sauce. It's very fragrant but also quite greasy. DERANG LIEMPO 🐷 Grilled Pork Skewers The meat is marinated with calamansi, soy sauce, and garlic. I looked up calamansi, which is a unique "small lemon" in the Philippines, so it has a slightly sour taste. But the overall combination of sweet, sour, and salty is very well balanced and is a dish praised by everyone. CRISPY PATA 🐷 Crispy Pork Knuckle It's a representative dish of the Philippines, where the whole pork knuckle is deep-fried and served with a sour and spicy sauce and rice. The lean meat is not at all dry, but I find the crispy skin a bit hard, and the pork flavor is quite strong, needing the sauce to tone it down. The white rice is available for unlimited refills. 🌹On my first visit, it was Valentine's Day, and the owner gave a rose to every table, which was a nice touch. It's also one of the restaurants I would visit again. I've already decided to order the roasted pig's trotters from Google Map next time. #OttawaFood #OttawaLife #OttawaFoodSharing #OttawaShopExploration #ShopExploration
