🌍🍴 Ottawa Foodie Guide | Byward Market Obsessed! 😍
This hidden gem of a market had us eating here MULTIPLE times over 3 days! 🌿 The open-air streets are packed with cute stalls to explore too 📍La Bottega🥪🥫🍪 A MASSIVE Italian supermarket that's dangerously delicious! 🤤 Deeper inside, their sandwiches are a MUST—cheap, huge, and flavor-packed! Tried: 1️⃣ Panini + overflowing provolone🧀 + prosciutto + ALL the toppings (dijon mustard adds a spicy kick!) 2️⃣ Baguette🥖 + mozzarella🧀 + Hungarian salame + every topping EXCEPT eggplant (yuck!) 🍞HEAVENLY PISTACHIO COOKIE ALERT! 🌿 Crunchy with dark/white chocolate chunks 👌 The bottom-left bread is cloud-soft with custard-like filling—OMG. Stocked up on pickles, pistachio spread (cheaper than Eataly!), truffle chips (good but not as intense as Trader Joe's), and FIG-FILLED COOKIES 🔥 Also spotted GIANT wheels of cheese🧀 and a ham/cheese/olive platter (we DIY'd it at home with ciabatta, roasted 🍅, pesto, and mayo—explosively good). 📍BeaverTails🍩 Iconic snack! Got the Bananarama: chocolate-hazelnut sauce + 🍌. Shared one between two… because self-control is overrated. 😇 📍Le Moulin de Provence🥐🍰🧁 Cozy, bustling café with SHOCKINGLY low prices but AMAZING quality! 🤯 Grabbed pastries pre-hike: Almond croissant: Soft with cinnamon goo inside 💛 Blueberry turnover: Not too sweet! 🫐 Palmier: Even LESS sweet than Chinese ones—perfection 🇨🇳👌 📍Wedel ☕️ European grocery store vibes! Fine-as-hair spaghetti, mate tea bags (had to buy!), and pretty floral teas that scream "GIFT ME". 🎁 ⛲️Major’s Hill Park Stunning views of the Ottawa River! 🌅 Perfect for sunset strolls… and random drum circles. 🥁 🧋🍵Happy Lemon! (Not in Byward but OBSESSED) First sip and I was SOLD. Turns out Toronto has them too—mind. blown. 🤯 Their signature brown sugar pearls with half-sugar? Chefs kiss. 🥥Matcha coconut slush with coconut jelly? Summer in a cup! 🌞 #Ottawa #BywardMarket #FoodieHeaven
