Palestrina|A Tale of Two Cities Near Rome
✅When I previously learned about ancient Roman architecture through Yale’s open course, I became deeply fascinated by the remains of the Santuario della Fortuna Primigenia at this site. 🏰 Initially, I thought only this relic had survived, but it turned out to be intricately connected to the entire town. First Terrace (Lower Colonnade, Commercial Spaces). Grand Staircase (Connecting the City and the Sanctuary) 📌Second Terrace (Intermediate Colonnade, Courtyard). Semicircular Theater-Like Terrace. Upper Terrace (Main Temple and Statue Hall) 🧡The top level now houses the local archaeological museum. By examining the surviving structural remains inside the museum and the arched structures on the lower levels, 🌳one can observe the design philosophy and architectural language reflecting the aesthetics and forms of early ancient Rome. 💗The construction features load-bearing concrete walls, vaulted spaces, and layered terraces, extensively using arcades, colonnades, and annular arched corridors to form a coherent spatial system. #Italy #Rome #ClassicalArchitecture
