Pasadena Food | When a Quiet Old Town Meets the Ancient Inca Empire
As a former volunteer who lived in Peru for almost three months, I can say: Peruvian food is incredibly suited to the Chinese palate! Many dishes are wok-fried, ingredients are fresh, and it feels like eating Asian food with surprising, creative combinations. It’s also a great choice when dining with non-Chinese friends — Peruvian cuisine bridges both taste preferences perfectly. ⏩ Located in Pasadena Old Town, this spot is my favorite. The lighting is cozy and dim, decorated like a seaside restaurant you’d find in a Peruvian plaza — full of exotic charm. The food hits the spot every time, which makes me so happy. After exploring so much of Pasadena, I’d say this is one of the best affordable date-night restaurants — not pricey, satisfying, and not heavy like typical "white people food." The flavors still feel familiar to our own cuisine. ⏩ Recommended Dishes 🍚 Lomo Saltado (first photo) Like a Chinese-style "over rice" dish, but with more aromatic spices. 🍹 Inca Kola (the green drink in the photo) A must-try! Peru’s national soda — think Coca-Cola or Beibingyang status. Everyone who tries it loves it. ⏩ Important Tip ⚠️ If you order a wok dish — definitely pack the leftovers! The spices develop even more overnight, and it tastes even better reheated the next day. Even the server told me: “It’s more delicious tomorrow!” (Guess everyone takes it home 😄) 💛 Bodegon No.69 💛 📌 69 N Raymond Ave, Pasadena #LAWeekend #LAFood #WhereToGoInLA #LosAngeles #LALife #Pasadena #PasadenaEats
