Arroz con Pollo: This is the dish I ordered. Why? being of Spanish descent, I am most familiar with this type of dish.

What's posted online: Orozco Pollo, chicken strips cooked with cilantro, peas, carrots, red peppers and Peruvian corn, papas à la huancaina, sala criolla.

Price:$26

what was actually served to me: ( see picture below) a mountain of rice glistening from the oil or grease or lard they used to cook this with, no chicken strips some bits of cilantro, peas, red pepper, carrots and Peruvian corn, and what I would be generous in saying, maybe five tiny pieces of chicken chunks, not more than 3 ounces worth!

Actual price: $28

My opinion: for me, I was looking for a substantial, or at least an adequate amount of chicken not four or five little chunk pieces that amounted to less than 3 ounces worth of chicken for $28 price!

The fact that the rice was cooked, smothered and some kind of shiny substance, equivalent to an oil, some kind of grease or lard, was a total gross and disappointing as well.

Some of the reviews that I read prior to going to this establishment talked about slow service, along with their server forgetting to bring certain items that were ordered.

Now, I can include my voice with the fact that slow service was very slow, and our server forgot to bring items requested. Not only that, one of the dishes that was never served! Why? Turns out not to be available, they ran out? And, we had not been informed until everyone else had been served except one of our party members, which required one of us to chase down the server to inquire about this missing meal, (oh and it took an hour plus before we got served) only to be informed that this one dish that was ordered was no longer available! How could the server not know this?

Parking? Forget about it! It's downtown Pasadena, it's a Friday 5:30 PM, the freaking town area was already super crowded, and parking was extremely hard to find.

Oh, and let's not forget the men's and women's restroom… guess where it's located? Downstairs… Down along a steep staircase into their basement area. Anybody who's afraid of height will look down this flight of steps and start shaking at the knees. And, so far as being handicap accessible, not down those stairs or to the bathrooms, they are not handicap accessible!

Overall my conclusion, I cannot at all recommend this place based on not only my firsthand experience, but also verifying the reviews of prior visitors who complaint of the same things that I personally experienced first hand. How or why they have a higher rating, I don't know, you think about it and come out with your own conclusions .

But for my health, my safety, my time and my money, I certainly won't be coming back, and in good conscience, I highly can not recommend trying this...

With every new Peruvian restaurant that I go to, I just have to try their Lomo Saltado since that's my barometer for Peruvian cuisines, and Bodegon No 69 very much delivers!

The Lomo Saltado is a classic, must-try staple in Peruvian cuisine. Cooked in a wok with soy sauce (there is a lot of Chinese influence in Peruvian cuisine due to the historical Silver trade between China and Spain within Peru), the best kinds of Lomo Saltado is bursting with flavor. The Beef here is thick and hearty, and the sauce is so delicious. The fries are also nice and crisp, too. There's a reason it's one of my favorite dishes and Bodegon serves it well!

To be fair, Bodegon is a bit pricier than majority of Peruvian restaurants that I've gone to, but it also offers a few items I have not seen elsewhere. Most notably, the Anticuchos or beef heart skewers. Heart is one of those meat choices that can be polarizing because of its tougher chewy texture (it is a muscle after all), but this Anticuchos grilled meat is just tender enough and the flavor is so good, especially with their Rocoto Sauce and Patata Brava (Peruvian-style fries potatoes). Only the corn feels forgettable. It's an adventurous dish that is rewarding to your taste buds!

On the other hand, the Tiradito a La Crema Ceviches is a bit underwhelming. It's thin-sliced Hamachi and the mild Aji Amarillo sauce is just a bit polite and mild-mannered. Maybe the other Ceviches are better here.

Lastly, you can't really have Peruvian cuisine without the proper Peruvian drinks, and I highly suggest the Inka Cola and if you fancy an alcoholic drink, the delicious Pisco Sour, which is the national cocktail consisting of pisco (grape brandy), lime juice, syrup, and egg white, with bitter sprinkled up top. It may be similar to a margarita, but it is just so much tastier!

All in all, Bodegon No 69 has some delicious, albeit pricier, but delicious Peruvian cuisine. Just skip the Traditional Ceviches. The staff is wonderful and so friendly and the interior is very...

I was with my partner and our niece at this restaurant on 06/20/2025 for dinner. While it was a busy night, there were 3-5 tables free inside. We were sat in the back corner away from other customers in a booth with worn seating that allowed the cushioning to be seen inside. We were only given two menus when there were three of us present. The hostess gave us plating for only two people as well. We moved over to the table next to us because of the worn down seat after sitting for approximately 7 minutes. The hostess did come over and help after that point to move another table physically out of our space. After another 5-6 minutes the table next to us was sat down immediately and their server came to speak with them after they were settled within about 2 minutes. Now at this point we still have not been served and the table next to us was already ordering drinks. After the other server had gotten the orders in for that table, our server came up at that time asking if we were ready to order while we were debating if we even wanted to eat there. The server then asked three separate times if we would like anything, "even water." After that thinly veiled insult, I personally had made up my mind that I did not want food from this establishment. Honestly after being treated this way, which at this point I wasn't sure if it was racially motivated or not, we left and I am now writing this review. I will not be suggesting this restaurant to any of my friends...
