Pet-Friendly Hotel in Richmond, Virginia | Omni 🐾

There are so many pet-friendly hotels in the U.S., and many don’t even charge a cleaning fee — no need to specially book one in advance. This trip was super rushed: booked my ticket just one day before, stayed a few nights, and now heading back to Shanghai 🏙️✈️. In two months, I’ll have to fly over again… so exhausting! 😫 Flying to the U.S. has gotten so much harder lately — there are very few direct flights to the East Coast. What used to be a 14-hour flight now takes at least 19 hours, even on the fastest route. 🕒 I arrived late and ended up booking a last-minute room at the Westin near Washington Dulles Airport. It’s pet-friendly 🐶, no cleaning fee, and my room faced a beautiful lake and bridge — super relaxing and perfect for walking the dog! The rate was reasonable too: $180 including tax and breakfast. There’s a pool, bar, gym, café, and a free airport shuttle 🚌. Definitely keeping this one in mind for future layovers at Dulles! Then I stayed at the Omni in Richmond, Virginia. This chain hotel feels a bit old-fashioned 🕰️, but it’s connected to a very modern Wells Fargo building — and somehow they blend together pretty harmoniously! Rooms usually go for around $280 during off-peak season. Great location with lots of food and entertainment nearby, and very convenient if you need to run errands or visit banks. The hotel’s restaurant is nice, and there’s even a Starbucks inside ☕. While the rooms feel a bit dated compared to the tech-savvy hotels back in China, they’re clean, tidy, and comfortable. This one is pet-friendly too, but charges a one-time cleaning fee of $150 per room. All in all, traveling with a dog in the U.S. is incredibly easy 🐕🦺 — there are pet-friendly hotels at every price point. Thinking of bringing my pup here for six months next time! The only annoying thing this trip? Even with an international data plan, my Chinese phone plan blocked essential apps like Google Maps, Uber, and Yelp 😭📵. Seriously, what’s the point of buying data if you can’t even use lifesaving apps? Had to get a U.S. number in the end. It’s such a hassle — makes you feel totally disconnected from the world 🌍🔇. #PetFriendly #TravelWithPets #PetFriendlyHotel #VirginiaTravel #USATravel #InternationalRoamingStruggles
