Pikes Peak Cog Railway Review πποΈ
We made a last-minute trip to Denver over the Labor Day long weekend. Round-trip red-eye flights were around $300, while flights at better times cost over $600. Without kids, we wouldβve taken the red-eye β but with a little one, we had to choose a schedule-friendly option to keep her routine intact. Just one of those hidden costs of parenting! π¨βπ©βπ§πΈ The Pikes Peak Cog Railway round trip takes about 3 hours, with a 1-hour stop at the summit (almost 4,000 meters high!). But honestly β the views along the way were pretty underwhelming π΄. The train was cramped and made us all sleepy. We dozed off the whole way up π₯±. At the top, it was snowing lightly βοΈ, foggy π«οΈ, and FREEZING π₯Ά. The altitude made us nauseous and uncomfortable, and our daughter kept asking to leave. So we slept all the way back down too π . Verdict: This is basically a tourist trap β not worth the time or money. We donβt recommend it. π Later, we visited Garden of the Gods ππ β and it was fantastic! Beautiful scenery, well-paved trails, stroller-friendly πΌ, and we even spotted some wildlife π¦πΏοΈ. Highly recommend! β #PikesPeak #ColoradoTravel #FamilyTravel #Denver #GardenOfTheGods #TravelTips
