Poor Calvin's in Atlanta
🦞Poor Calvin's is a charming restaurant that innovatively blends Eastern flavors with Western techniques and presentation. My friends and I ordered lobster mac and cheese, seafood curry, lobster fried rice, duck dynasty, fried squid, and levitating cake. This was one of the best restaurants we visited in Atlanta, Georgia. My favorite dish was the duck dynasty because the duck was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. If you plan to have the levitating cake for dessert, I suggest sharing it. The slices are huge—I shared it with three of my friends! The savory dishes were very flavorful, and the cake wasn't overly sweet.🦞 🔥The restaurant serves American-Thai cuisine. The location is a bit remote, and the seating is quite cramped, with an average ambiance. However, it's still bustling with customers, and you might have to wait for a table even after 8 or 9 p.m. The business is booming! 🔥For small bites, we chose the recommended fried salmon, which was delicious. The dipping sauce reminded me of my favorite CFA sauce—yummy! For the main courses, we had lamb chops and curry seafood. Both had generous portions, and we couldn't finish them all. The lamb chops came in four pieces, cooked medium, but the doneness was a bit inconsistent and slightly tough. Fortunately, the sauce was well-seasoned. The curry seafood included scallops, lobster tail, squid, and large shrimp, all of which were very tender. The curry sauce was fantastic for soaking up with rice, but we were too full to continue. 🍍Excluding tips, the average cost per person was $85. Overall, it was pretty good, except for the lamb chops. #InternationalStudentEats #Atlanta #food #ThaiCuisine
