This Independence Day, we finally took our two dogs on a road trip we’d been planning forever! πŸš—πŸ’¨ Route: New Jersey ➑️ Portland ➑️ Acadia 4 days, 3 nights πŸ—“οΈ To avoid traffic, we left JC at 7:30 AM and arrived at our hotel in Portland around 1 PM. 🏨 Hyatt Place Portland-Old Port Very pet-friendly! 🐾 $75 pet fee per night β€” includes dog treats! The room was spacious with a sofa and a big window so the pups could enjoy the view πŸͺŸπŸΆ The hotel is right in the heart of the Old Port β€” walking distance to most recommended restaurants and cute local shops. πŸ¦ͺ Eventide Oyster Co. (Dog-Friendly! 🐾) We had lunch here β€” waited about an hour ⏳ While waiting, we grabbed donuts at The Holy Donut 🍩 and blueberry soda! We ordered 2 dozen oysters πŸ¦ͺ β€” the staff helped us pick the best varieties β€” super fresh and delicious! Also tried: Lobster Roll, Crab Bun, Clam Chowder, Lobster Stew Verdict: Oysters = πŸ‘, other dishes = just okay. You can find better elsewhere. πŸ›οΈ Fun Local Shops: 1️⃣ Maxwell's Pottery Outlet – Cute handmade crafts 🏺, perfect for souvenirs 2️⃣ Cool As A Moose – My friend bought an adorable lobster T-shirt! πŸ‘•πŸ¦ž 3️⃣ Uncommon Paws – A very well-stocked pet store! Got the pups lobster toys 🧸 and blueberry-lobster treats 🫐 πŸ“Έ Afternoon: Portland Head Light Lighthouse Very photogenic! πŸ“· There’s a huge open lawn where the dogs could run around off-leash πŸ•πŸŒ³ 🍽️ Dinner: Blyth & Burrows Randomly picked this highly-rated bar β€” turned out amazing! We ordered: Shrimp Cocktail, Pretzels, Sausage Roll, Lobster Roll β€” all delicious!
