Portland | A Foodie's Collection at Clarklewis
So I finally went to check out that famous "farm-to-table" restaurant in Portland, Clarklewis, that I'd been thinking about for ages! Honestly, it gives off such a healthy and natural vibe. If you're tired of heavy flavors and want something lighter for a change, this is definitely a great spot! 😉 Their menu is mostly filled with all kinds of seasonal vegetables 🥦🥬, so you can really taste the ingredients themselves—super fresh! For someone like me who usually craves meat, I thought it might be a bit too "green" at first, but I ended up feeling pretty good about it. A big shoutout has to go to their daily handmade pasta 🍝—it's truly their signature! We ordered the pappardelle with a slow-braised lamb ragù. The sauce was incredibly fragrant, with none of that gamey lamb taste, just rich, savory goodness. As for the noodle texture, if you really love your pasta super firm and al dente, you might find it a tiny bit soft, but it was still wonderfully smooth and delicious! For the main course, we had the pan-seared salmon 🐟, and this was the star of the show for me! The salmon had a beautifully crispy skin while the inside remained tender and moist—perfectly cooked. Topped with crispy fried shallots and this unique "Java" sauce, it felt like a really creative combo for American cuisine, with fantastic layers of flavor! All in all, this is a place where you can slow down and truly appreciate the simple goodness of food. It's a bit on the pricier side, and the vegetables do feel a little... precious here 😂, but you can feel the care they put into their ingredients. Just a heads up: the restaurant automatically adds a 10% service charge (and they specifically note it's not a gratuity). So, if you're into this kind of eco-friendly, healthy eating philosophy, or if you're just a big veggie lover 🥕, I'd totally recommend giving it a try! ✨ #PortlandFood #PortlandEats #FarmToTable
