Portland | Being a Brunch Royal in the US 🥞

🥞 Mother's Bistro & Bar 📍 121 SW 3rd Ave, Portland, OR 97204, USA The upside of jet lag is getting to eat like a "royal" first thing in the morning ^ ^ This seems to be a long-standing local spot – when we arrived at 10 AM, it was already full, and we had to wait 20 minutes .The restaurant was bustling with family gatherings and friends dining together. We ordered 6 dishes, and none were a letdown – every plate came with huge portions. - Crunchy Challah French Toast: This is the exact dish that made me want to visit! The toast crust is coated with cornflakes before baking, so it’s super crispy. The inside, soaked in egg and milk mixture, is soft – it feels like "kissing the toast with your tongue." It’s sweet enough even without drizzling maple syrup or adding cream.🍧🍧 💓💓- Tofu Hash: It tastes like a Chinese-style dish – pan-fried tofu, stir-fried potatoes, mushrooms, spinach, garlic, and more, all cooked together in an American-style hash. Crack a runny-yolked egg on top,(tuck) it into a piece of crispy toast, and it feels like eating an American version of "roujiamo" (Chinese meat sandwich). The tofu is crispy on the outside and tender inside, and the fragrant garlic leaves are the perfect touch.😍 - Traditional Eggs Benedict: Brunch without Eggs Benedict is a waste. The perfect poached egg only stays photogenic for 3 seconds – I hate wasting a single drop of the yolk, so I always end up eating it in a messy way.🍎🍎 💕💕 One bite coats your lips with a thick layer of Hollandaise sauce; quickly dip a roasted potato in it to clean it up. - Portuguese Frittata: By this point, I’d already eaten no less than 9 eggs – hens would probably cover their butts when they see me. This frittata is made with 3 eggs, ham, and cheese, pan-fried until the outside is crispy and the inside is tender, with rich layers of flavor.❣️❣️ - Strawberry Belgian Waffle: As sweet and soft as a girl’s cheek, topped with fluffy cream. 🍚 The slightly tart strawberries cut through the sweetness, and it looks like a "textbook-perfect" waffle 🧇. Surprisingly, they didn’t ask for tips after the meal – such a nice touch 🥹! #Portland #PortlandFood #PortlandTravel #PortlandFoodExploration #GapWeekLuxury #NationalDayFoodDiary #NationalDayFoodie #NationalDayWorthwhileFoodGuide
