Portuguese Cuisine That Beats British Food Anyday! 🍴✨

🌞 First Meal in Southern Portugal - Centenário Our first lunch in Faro was pure bliss - eating under the Portuguese sun with a cold drink in hand!We went for their famous kebab-style grilled fish (the Portuguese version of Brazilian churrasco), and the monkfish skewers were absolutely divine!💯 🐟 Why Monkfish Skewers Are Special: Only available in Portugal (as far as we know!) London charges a fortune for monkfish, but here in Faro? Just €10+ for a huge, juicy skewer! The smoky flavor from the grill paired perfectly with the tender fish - heavenly! 🐙 Octopus Salad Another Portuguese staple we can't get enough of!The octopus was perfectly tender with just the right amount of olive oil and herbs. 🍖 Stewed Pork Fall-off-the-bone tender with rich, deep flavors - comfort food at its finest! Overall rating: 8/10 - great value for money and authentic flavors! 🦐 Taberna Zé-Zé - Faro's Famous Seafood Spot This Instagram-famous restaurant didn't disappoint! The owner was super charismatic, constantly showing us his YouTube ads while we ate (hilarious!). 🐚 Must-Tries: Clams - Plump, juicy, and perfectly seasoned! Portuguese Seafood Rice - Beautiful presentation but smaller portion than expected (typical Portuguese generosity was missing here!) Grilled Squid - Different from what we imagined but still tasty! Salad - Unexpected but warm salads are surprisingly good in Portugal's climate! Rating: 7.5/10 - great atmosphere and seafood, just don't expect giant portions! 🥪 Cafetaria Chelsea Coffee & Brunch A very Western-style brunch spot that showed up first on Google - tourist trap alert? ⚠️ What to Skip: Tapioca Pancake - Looks like a bowl of tiny pearls (triggers trypophobia!) and has a strange powdery texture North African Egg - Flavorful but too runny for our taste Salmon Sourdough - Mediocre at best ✅ What We Liked: North African Egg - Despite the texture issues, the flavor was surprisingly good! Rating: 6/10 - decent but not worth the hype! 🥫 Hidden Gem: Local Fish Canned Goods Store On the main road, we spotted a colorful store filled with various Portuguese canned fish!Perfect for: Unique souvenirs Gourmet gifts Trying authentic Portuguese flavors at home 📸 Definitely worth a photo stop even if you don't buy anything! Final Thoughts on Faro's Food Scene 🌟 Faro proved that Southern Portuguese cuisine can easily rival British food any day! From fresh seafood to traditional grills, every meal was a delicious adventure! #PortugueseFoodie #FaroEats #StreetFoodAdventures #TravelFoodDiary #SeafoodLovers #PortugalTravel #FoodieParadise #AuthenticFlavors #WanderlustEats
