This restaurant is in my opinion too much overrated. It is crampy inside and people sit close to each other on wooden, uncomfortable chairs, so you can get back problems easily. They have a variety of dishes and for sure the premium ones will be delicious. However, I cannot get my head around it that one dish is almost 50 euros! Moreover, most of these are for two persons. And although the waitress told me that she would be keen to make it for one person (for only me), it did make me feel uncomfortable. What's more, I do think that the people inside weren't used to see 'just' one person walking in to have dinner. Seemingly I was also judged on my appearance. In my opinion this shouldn't matter (do not most millionaires just don't care what they are wearing?). The menu did have a tapas-section. However, the cheapest tapas was 11 euros! I really don't get it, because most tapas in Spain start from 5 euros onwards, plus they usually offer a big variety. So I chose the 'Calamari', from which I thought were like in Spain 'Calamaris a la plancha', but real squid rings. Instead I got deep-fried 'calamaris-nuggets'. Seemingly these nuggets were just bought that week out of the freezer section, next to the chicken nuggets in the supermarket. Luckily I wasn't very hungry and the white wine was ok. At least the price of 4 euros for one wine was not too expensive. The Portuguese can clearly learn something from the Spanish. Whereas the people in Spain are receiving higher wages, the restaurants are far more cheaper than in Portugal. And for sure, although they must have great fish on their menus, I would prefer to eat fresh fish in Málaga, which is a...

My girlfriend and I visited Taberna Zè-Zè on 16th of July 2024 .

We read really good reviews on trip advisor and thought we would give the place a try , we weren't disappointed.

We arrived at the restaurant and were greeted with a warm smile from the owner himself and sat us down at our table . He then began to explain the menu to use in English and what each dish comprised of .

The atmosphere we lovely and he had us laughing with his well put together and Oscar winning short movies on the big screen tv (im not going to spoil it for you but you'll see what i mean when you get there).

The food was definitely the thing that won hands down , everything was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. There were so much that we couldn't finish it all as we were stuffed the the brim .

On paying our bill, which I didn't think was too bad for 2 people , my girlfriend, I and Mr ZÈ-ZÈ himself shared a shot of a cherry liqueur and wished us a great hoilday and waved us goodbye.

We will definitely visit Taberna Zè-Zè again if we come...

As always, I'm looking at the service and staffing as well as the food. This place scored high! And in winter low tourist season, they still gave top notch service.

My waitress was Suriah, very friendly professional and told me all about the local cuisine. The owner Eldu was a bag of laughs, really enjoys talking to the customers.

I ordered the fried squid and Sea food rice. Usually the sea food rice is for two, but they made it for one... Whoa, it was still enough for two, maybe even three!!

The flavours were great and complimentary. I'm impartial to coriander, but I noticed they asked everyone if they wanted it, so I said yes. Good move as it was added to my sea food rice. YUM!! The sea food rice was simply packed with flavour, and crab and muscles and shrimp... Delicious 😋

I couldn't have dessert, no space left!

Highly recommended if you're on this side...
